Jonathan Zawada is an Australian artist, graphic designer and creative director based in Sydney, with a highly enjoyable portfolio spanning many mediums including animation, painting and print.  Some of his best known work are the album covers he designed for Muscle, which display gorgeously detailed typography which isn't uncommon in his work.  Check out his website, flickr and facebook for more.

Music Goodness: M83 and Trentemøller

I've been keepin' up with this season's How To Make It In America and am consistently impressed by the spectrum of good music and the timing on the drops. Last week's episode closed with a half naked Gina Gershon and M83's Midnight City.  It shouldn't be a surprise that Victoria's Secret also licensed this song for pushing their push up bras.

Hand-Lettered Typography by Visual Armory / Andy Luce (Chicago)

Andy Luce, aka Visual Armory, has a natural talent for messing with lettering in a way that gives his work a definite "human touch" feel to it.  I can really appreciate the quality of his work, having done a auto shop sign myself, but one that was nowhere as awesome as Andy's hand-lettered and painted muffler shop wall featured at the top of the post.  And his business cards and personal stationary are something else...they turn out really nice with those gorgeous stamps.  Check out his shop for greeting cards and prints that he has for sale.
