RSOW -- Lee Freeman

We got an email a while back from Carlisle, UK based Lee Freeman, currently a third year design student at the University of Cumbria.  He told us that the site has been a source of inspiration since he first studied design, and was asking for feedback on his posters.  The only thing I have to say about that is to keep on designing and exposing yourself to different styles and mediums, while still making your own style.  It's not easy to make it big as a designer these days, but you've got to start somewhere.  Big cheers for Lee in submitting and for what his future holds in graphic design.

Restaurant Menu Item Designs by Russell Pritchard

Russel Pritchard is an undergraduate graphic design student at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee who has an impressive portfolio, but I'm passing his other more professional work for his really cool restaurant menu item poster designs.  He packs some appealing font play and illustration work in promoting food items at a few local eateries, which I think is a great idea that you don't see a lot of these days.  Usually you see poorly constructed Times New Roman standard menu prints with clip art that the restaurant owner's son put together in 5 minutes to present customers with.  Russel disagrees with those kinds of menus.  Presentation is everything, from the food to the design.  Quality always wins.

Poster for Opposites Attract: CSULB Graphic Design Senior Show

A friend by the name of Nellie Le shared this poster for an upcoming show entitled Opposites Attract, the California State University Long Beach graphic design senior show.  This definitely has a more polished look compared to the typical senior show flyers usually passed around, as it's nicely designed with some clean, intricate patterns and a sweet color palette by Spenser Garden.

Burak Beceren is a graphic design student at Istanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi in Turkey.  He's very talented at making clean layouts, and the typography on his first few gridded posters are awesome.
