Surreal Beast Illustrations by Iain Macarthur

Iain Macarthur is a illustrator and graphic designer from Swindon, UK.  His portfolio kind of caught me off guard with the seemingly supernatural portrayals of animals in portrait form.  He beautifully adds feathers and tribal patterned effects onto already  powerful poses of animals with piercing gazes.  Just take a look at the his tiger piece, its almost as if all of the details are distracting from being able to appreciate the whole image.

I can't even imagine what has to be going on in your head when coming up with things like these.  But whatever Iain did to reach this artistic vision sure is pretty damn good.

Nueva Forma has probably become one of my favorite labels and podcasts, and I'm contemplating on purchasing this beauty here for a super reasonable $10.

New Poster: Obey + Atrak Collaboration

OBEY and ATRAK collaborated recently to create this rad poster.  Who can contest a well-styled, blinged-out chicken burning a cabin on fire with his cigar?

You can purchase the poster set or the cd from 80sPurple here.

Vahalla Studios - John Mayer tour posters for winter 2010

Not a big fan of John Mayer, but a huge fan of good tour posters that make use of eccentric patterns, sweet color schemes, obtrusive serifs, and that stone-like abrasion texture.

Missouri based Vahalla Studios came up with posters for John Mayer's Winter 2010 tour, which are up for purchase here.

Special props out to Tad Carpenter and Dan Padavic.
