Event promotions done right - club flyers from the Detroit Bar

Almost every night at Detroit Bar has been a good night for me, and very often they have some great bands and DJs coming in.  The flyers however, with 10-minute or less deadlines, can usually be hit-or-miss. But every once and a while, a Detroit Bar event has a decent flyer.  I'm not sure if their resident designer suddenly has some inspirational moments, but when they come the designs turn out pretty well in terms of bar flyers.

And for reference, here's some of Detroit Bar's flyers collected from our previous posts on Flyer Goodness, all the way back to our first post in 2008:

Kent Hernandez - Haiti + More

Really digging how the country is divided up, really complements the typography.

Very geometrically and colorfully pleasing.  Like a retro game show, but cool.

These thin flyers would make amazing bookmarks...

The album is still available for download here.

Take a look at any of these flyers and just try to tell me that they aren't some of the coolest things you've seen recently.  We posted a while ago on Kent Hernandez, and its good seeing his new designs even more visually stunning than before.  And, thanks for the props (of the props) Kent.

Kent Hernandez

Kent Hernadez has been putting out some flyer design goodness lately, most recently with his nonprofit flyer for "Local Motion" at the top. His flyers and posters really make good use of attractive colors and brilliant type. Check out more of his work at his blog.
