RSOW -- Gordon Beveridge

This week's Reader Submission Of the Week: Gordon Beveridge from Glasgow, Scotland with some words of inspiration in designing his Federation of the Disco Pimp poster because we are all about inspiration here.

Its a poster for a band I’ve done numerous design projects with over the past few years – Federation of the Disco Pimp (FOTDP). This particular poster was part-inspired by the fact I’d just watched North By Northwest, and was yet again reminded of the genius of Saul Bass (particularly the way he runs the typography along the window frames in the opening sequence). The subject matter of the poster is a gentle nod to FOTDP’s recent album artwork and the fact that they were billed against another funk 'heavyweight' Snarky Puppy.

Subclub: Sensu vs Noodle kung-fu club flyer

I stumbled upon this through some google stalking, and apparently this flyer was done for a SubClub event by a very talented designer, as it is very different from the rest of the flyers for Sensu.  If anyone knows who the designer is, please comment so I can give him/her some credit for this kick-ass (literally) flyer!

Call To Mind + Streetlife

Design credit goes to David Airey. Done for music events in Edinburgh and Glasgow, the type is very straighforward and to the point, simple enough to get right to the information but still eye-catching.
