Alexander Rodchenko (1891-1956) was a graphic designer, artist, and photographer from St. Peterburg, Russia who contributed a great deal to early Russian design, being one of the founding fathers of
Constructivism at the time. He drew a lot of inspiration for his work from the ideals of the Russian revolution during the early 1900s, where he branched out from painting and explored photocollage design and photography. As a European avant-garde artist, he denounced the end of painting and drew some of the first real monochrome pieces.
