Branding 10,000 Lakes by Nicole Meyer

Branding 10,000 lakes is the epic undertaking project of Minneapolis, Minnesota based Nicole Meyer in creating one finely crafted logo for each Minnesota lake every day.  To be exact, Minnesota has 11,842 lakes.  Crazy.

Nostra over at My Film Views put together an informative and interesting post on the evolution of the Warner Bros. logo that I thought deserves more attention as a shield emblem that is easily taken for granted in the first few seconds of a Waner Bros. film opening.  Just learned that the original four founding Warner brothers held the original last name of Wonskolaser, which sounds so much cooler.   The 1972-1984 logo designed by Saul Bass is probably my favorite of the bunch.
