Music Goodness: Kisses x Sun Airway and The Field

I just got back from the Abbott Kinney festival in Venice Beach after soaking up some reggae vibes courtesy of Dublab and catching a set from LA band Kisses. I Spotified through Kisses' discography to see if I've missed anything after their solid LP from last year and noticed they've been remixed by an impressive bunch including Hot Chip's Joe Goddard and Active Child. My favorite of the lot takes their pop shoegazey song "People Can Do The Most Amazing Things" for a spin through some lofi atmosphere balearic places.

Kisses – People Can Do The Most Amazing Things (Sun Airway Remix)

This track from The Field has was pretty good to me last week and is a good bet for curing a case of the Mondays.

Vintage Sci-Fi Book Covers

Came across these 1980s old school science fiction book covers and liked the simplicity in type work and layout. Yellow, red and white never looked so good since McDonald's.

Illustrated Movie Posters & Screenprints by Sam Smith (Nashville)

Sam Smith aka Sam's Myth, is a talented artist from Nashville, Tennessee, whose work has been seen on movie art for IFC Films.  He's incredibly talented at hand-drawing, but is also able to design in a wide range of styles, and rather quickly at that, judging from his process posts, which gives an interesting look at his projects from concept to finish.  In addition to the awesomeness of Sam's work, his blog is a goldmine of very inspirational content and historical art.  Also check out his online shop for a some of his gorgeous, but not-sold-out-yet prints.
