Non-Toxic Revolution Posters Designed by Shepard Fairey & Studio Number One

Went out to lunch in downtown LA the other day and noticed these designs painted on mural-size on the huge wall of a beer garden.  You can tell from the first poster that this would be Shepard Fairey related -- not only by the design, but also by the fact that he's one of the most non-profit involved and talented artists out there.  While this series for The Non Toxic Revolution was sold out quickly when it was released last month, you can still enjoy this collaboration between Shepard Fairey and Studio Number One online or check out that wall off 3rd and Alameda.

20th Century Chinese Graphic Design

Came across some uncommon visuals of Chinese graphic design from the book Chinese Graphic Design of the Twentieth Century by Scott Minick and Jiao Ping.  Really liking the abstractness and Chinese character type work.  Very original pieces, if you ask me.

Music Goodness

We were repping FG at the Mad Decent block party in LA this weekend and caught a set from Canadian beat maker Lunice. Hypnotic dance worthy beats were blowing up on that stage while this dude was doing tomahawk chops syncopated to his bass kicks.

NYMag put out their anticipated new albums list for fall and some sweet stuff is ready to drop. I recognized most of it, but the Gauntlet Hair comparison to Washed Out / Animal Collective left me curious and digging for more.

Reader Submission of the Week: Stathi Kougianos (South Africa)

This week we're proud to feature some flyer art sent in to us from Stathi Kougianos, a designer from Durban, South Africa, as our Reader Submission of the Week.  Stathi has a great hand for digital illustration with a fun color style, and we're anxious to see how his new work will look like down the road.

If you'd like to be featured as our reader submission of the week, drop us an email at flyergoodness@gmail.com -- we might not get back to you for a while, or sometimes at all, but we do spend a lot of time combing through the art submissions we get!

Posters by South African Designer Anthony Neil Dart

You may have seen Anthony Neil Dart's "Vignelli Forever" poster series floating around the web before, but he's a versatile and multi-talented designer as you can tell by this sample of his work.  This South African designer is just as skilled at arranging type in a traditional Swiss Grid just as he's capable of designing some edgy typefaces from scratch.  It's a shame he doesn't have any poster prints for sale -- but if you do Anthony, let us know!
