Complexity Graphics by Tatiana Plakhova

Not your typical example of digitized abstract art--what Tatiana Plakhova calls 'Complexity Graphics' is stunning in detailed intricacy and impressive in visual depth.  Her work is an expressionist form of  networkism, or complexism, where the design style is largely influenced by imaginary landscapes of interconnected entities.  It's almost like pointilism taken to an extreme digitally, with a consistent organic theme throughout the series.

Certainly a fresh take on digital art for me.  Just goes to show that not everyone is going for the whole minimalist trend.  I get the feeling of traditional meets futuristic in this set.

Modern Movie Posters Done Right: Cardinal Communications (NYC)

After watching Moon, Layer Cake, The Wackness, Kung Fu Hustle, Inside Job, and Who Killed the Electric Car, I noticed that not only did I love those films, but that the poster design for all of them was better than average.  Not only that, but all of those movie posters were credited to Cardinal Communications in New York, an agency based in New York that somehow manages to slip decently and cleanly designed posters into the trashy and tacky realm of mainstream movie promotions.  Check out their website (which might give you a chuckle as to how outdated it actually is) and their IMP Awards profile for more.
