Superhero& Villain Posters by Mark Grambau

Thought these were some pretty cool pieces from Mark Grambau from Boston.  Sure, we've seen a bunch of people that always put their spin on superhero posters, but you almost never see the exact same thing twice.  And I'm a fan of the catchphrases that he chose to include-very cool.

Abstract Design by Nick Zipper

These caught my eye on Behance, works from Nick Zipper from Prague, Czech Republic. Some really interesting combinations of shapes and colors at work here.

Movie Poster: Beetle Queen Conquers Tokyo

Here's a cool poster for the 2009 SXSW film, Beetle Queen Conquers Tokyo.  Not sure about the designer behind this, but the trailer looks interesting, that's for sure.

Star Wars Helmets as African Masks by Alex Griendling

I would never have even come close to the idea of the African mask versions of Star Wars helmets, but apparently Alex Griendling did.  It just works so well, bringing out enough tribal primitiveness and Star Wars symbolism in a way that meshes them perfectly.  If these ever go into production as kids toys, I would want them.  Also included some more gig posters that take on the literal meaning of band names.

"Adios L.A." -- A Billboard Series from Jon Jackson

Jon Jackson is a designer leaving his hometown and ending his relationship with Los Angeles in a ver bold, public, and typographically-pleasing way.  The "Adios LA" series is such a great way to send yourself off from a city.  I hope that when it's my time to leave my native Los Angeles, I hope that I am able to pull off something just as clever.
