Hard Haunted Mansion 2010 Flyer and Set List

Cool typography in this flyer for this year's Hard Haunted Mansion 2010.

Here's the lineup for this amazing event.  The HARD Haunted Mansion schedule is packing some amazing talent in one place.  Definitely a place to be this Halloween in Los Angeles.

Flaming Lips Poster Screenprinted with Wayne Coyne's Blood

Wayne Coyne, the lead singer of the Flaming Lips, prints a gig poster for the band using a vial of his blood as the ink.  Watch the video to see the chilly process.

Here's how the final poster looks like.  While there's a few done for this Austin City Limits Festival poster, there's only one done with Wayne Coyne's blood, and the bidding for this poster has gone up to $60,000 supposedly.

StarCraft 2 The Betrayal on Kerrigan Cinematic

For any of you that have been absorbed by the Blizzard  Real Time Strategy phenomenon that is Starcraft, after seeing some of the cinematics while playing the game I was completely blown away by the rendering and art direction taken in putting together a story for the Starcraft 2 plot. Cutscenes in games these days have gotten so good that I don't think I'll need to bother paying for 3D movie theater tickets anymore.

The scene where Kerrigan faces off with the hydralisk in slow motion with debris flying everywhere is just ridiculous. RIDICULOUS.

Reader S.O.W -- Queen City Studio

This weeks Reader Submission of the Week comes from Buffalo based Queen City Studio, a design studio split on the West and East coast founded by Rob Hopkins and Nick Haas.  We recently twittered (tweeted, twet/twit) one of their Pete Yorn Posters, and after they noticed that they sent us a kind email for Reader S.O.W. They put up some really great work, and love their texturing and New York feel.

Retro Disney/Pixar Posters by Eric Tan

Decided to turn this twitter status update into a post after checking out more of Eric's work.  These are just fun to look at, and chances are that you've seen at least one of these movies, where he does a really good job in creating the perfect combination of typography and graphics.

And a flyer he did for an opening night Beastie Boys Gallery at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles that I attended and remembered seeing his flyer for.  Its a lot cooler now that I know who made it.
